Starting new cover project - guitar & keys needed

posted: November 25, 2009, 05:21 AM

Hi,

We (drummer, bassist, vocalist) are interested in finding a guitarist and keyboard player for a new project. We are all seasoned musicians (over 60 years combined experience between us). What we're interested is in a guitarist & keyboard player who are experienced & can play all styles, but also interested in being part of a team - no egos - all for one, one for all kind of thing. Everyone has input & we learn what each other suggests, but we concentrate on playing what the people want to hear. We want this new project to do 10 to 20 songs of each genre (at least) in order to play anywhere and for anyone. The more versatile GOOD bands are the ones being paid the GOOD $$ and have the best following. In our experience, it's the band that plays what people want to hear that people come back to see.

We want to entertain the masses and have fun doing it! It's a blast to get everyone out of there seats jammin' whether your playing blues, country, current rock, or the classics. We have a female singer who can sing Alannis Morisette, Janis Joplin, Pat Benetar, Gretchen Wilson and then turn around an sing Metallica, AC/DC, ZZ Top and Skynyrd. So she's pretty versatile. The bass player has been in several rock & country bands. He can play everything from the walking bass swing style, to the rhythmic country, to the hard heavy grind of current music. Our drummer just wants to do it all and has the talent to do it. The 3 of us have been a team off and on for the last 10 years or so, so we click with each other well. We want to find those unique members that will fit in with us.

Currently we're in a classic rock band (3 pc w/ voice)- mainly 70's & 80's rock, but we're wanting to do something more varied to open us up to more opportunities. We know about 100 different songs that are doable now (classic, blues, rock, country, etc.) that a the guitarist/keyboardist can learn(unless he/she already knows them). We're also quick studies and are eager to learn new material that these new members know well. Therefore, we could be ready fairly quickly. We have connections and future shows set up that this new project can take over if the members we choose are ready. After that we can work on learning more material that everyone wants to do.

If interested in hearing more, email me back. I'd like to know where in general your located in KC (South, Northeast, North?), your experience, preferences, are you more a lead or rhythm player, what are your goals for yourself and whatever band your in, what do you look for in a band, and how much are you wanting to play (twice a month, every weekend, as much as possible?)

If you have anything recorded, email that too and we'll listen to it. Don't forget your contact info so we can call you back!!

I am in my 40's and am an established singer / songwriter, and can provide samples. I have been the lead singer in a band the past 4 years and a guest performer in several others during that span.
I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I don't judge anyone who does, as long as it doesn't interfere with the music. I am married, and have no ego issues.
Just wanting to be part of a group that has a desire to get somewhere other than chasing skirts at the bars. I do not need to be the front man, or sing lead for that matter. I am a team player.

DeZire seeking a new Bass Player/Singer

posted: November 14, 2009, 11:34 AM

The band DeZire (formerly Soul DeZire) is in need of a new bass player singer that can sing lead on about 10 songs for any show. We are no longer a female fronted band but will use a female for special functions and all wedding receptions. The band primarily plays private functions but may change that for the right venues. If you are interested please respond to this post with your name, contact telephone number, playing history and any recent bands and websites. A current songlist and songs that you sing would be most apprectiated. DeZire is a variety group that covers party dance songs from the 60s to the present day Top 40 Artists.
We have very little emphasis on Classic Rock and Southern Rock. Most of our shows include a first set devoted to Classic R&B, Motown and 60s and early 70s Dance Rock. We would liked to add a Beatles Medley to our Master Songlist. Mike, Will or Jim will get back with you asap.

FUTURE Grammy STARS Produced by OCTANE-Records-Music.com!

SEATTLE, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Hear the difference at Octane Records with signed Recording Artists that now include the following New Artists: Aziel, Jailbird, HUD, Heath, Mr. Rakafela, Maggot Brain, and Octane featuring Shock G, Humpty Hump (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/rakaoctane1), and Snoop Dogg (http://www.rogueisland.com). Produced By Brent DeRocher for Octane Records.

Most people will never forget Aziel for his chart-topping hit "Fall In Love Again." The day it hit KCCN FM 100, Hawaii's premier radio station, it immediately made its way onto the daily "Top 5 at 5," becoming the number-one most requested song for six weeks. Another hit followed - a remake of Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon In The Sky." Listeners couldn't get enough of Aziel's silky R&B voice. Aziel is currently seeking full radio rotation on all mainstream USA radio stations for his album "Take You Away" that features music-writing and production by multi-platinum legendary songwriter LeRoy Martez Bell, and music writer Linton Weems. With several hit songs and "GROUNDBREAKING" industry sound, this project commands a space within the R&B community.

Aziel Toeaina, born January 1, 1978 in San Francisco, California, is a musical genius who can switch from his R&B delivery to Hip Hop and Rap, unlike many artists on the market today. Aziel's critics say he may be as good as Usher and Justin Timberlake. Aziel also plans on being a Grammy Nominee and a Grammy Winner in the very near future.

Jailbird, born Jeffrey Sayer in 1978 in Olympia, Washington, is destined to be a rap superstar; the kind of superstar that understands a good hook, strong songwriting and the importance of a great performance. Jailbird's critics say he may be as good as Eminem. Jailbird is a Rap Artist that plans on being a Grammy Nominee.

HUD was born Anthony Hudson in Memphis, Tennessee in April of 1971. A Rap Artist who loves performing, HUD began entertaining in early 1986 at talent shows. His mother, who fell upon hard times while HUD was young, was a former background singer for the likes of B. B. King and other popular Memphis recording artists and is credited for introducing HUD to the profession of music.

Mr. Rakafela, born Alvin E. Kirton III in Oakland, California in July of 1973, was highly influenced in the early 1990s by the success of Tupac Shakur and Shock G from Digital Underground. Being deeply rooted in Tupac and Digital's cliques, Mr. Rakafela developed a Funk/Hip Hop mix which he displays in his latest masterpiece, "Tale of a New Legend" featuring Shock G, Humpty Hump, and Jailbird.

I am looking to audition female singers who are interested in performing
in a Joni Mitchell tribute show. This show would be marketed to local clubs such as The Brick, Bar Natasha, The Record Bar and others.
Presently I am an active solo acoustic guitarist in the KC MO area.
It is possible that a duo that would gig regulary playing other material could evolve out of this.

The ideal singer I am looking to work with would be able to read music,
have a wide vocal range (a la Joni), and also be familer with Joni's material from her early songs to more recent material.Interested singers may contact Kevin at 816-379-8105

to start a band or join a band. Interesting in such musical stylings as The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Kings of Leon to name a few, and much of 90's alt rock. Interested in covers and original works. Been playing guitar for about 10 years or so, (mainly real good rhythm) and have experience playing with experienced musicans in band settings. I have a small list of my own equipment, such as a mic and stand, PA system and 10" monitor, a 65w crate amp, Takamine acoustic and Epiphone Les Paul electric.

I'm 33 and have a young family, so my time can be somewhat limited, but reasonable when it comes to practice times (at least once a week) and weekend gigs now and then.

I am a 30 year old vocalist. I have been doing hardcore vocals for the better part of 15 years, but only recently as a frontman. I am in the midst of vocal lessons to aid in my singing abilities. My influences range from Lamb of God, Meshuggah, In Flames, Oh, Sleeper and more along that vein.

I write all my own lyrics but open to almost anything. I am looking for a talented group to work with to push my boundaries and challenge me day-in and day-out.

I am a screamer FIRST, singer 2nd...and I am no Whitney Houston. You can check out some video samples, and audio at my MS page. www.myspace.com/cerebusmusic. 3 of the audio tracks are NOT me singing, only screaming.

Hit me up if you are interested. Thanks!
