If you are a Keys player (Piano/B3 style) in your late teens-early 20s (18-23ish) and enjoy playing both originals and covers in a classic rock/blues style of music this will be the band for you. Styles ranging from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ozzy to the Beatles, we will be playing it all. There is a major call for a young band that plays this style and it will be a blast to do. What makes this band unique is the fact that there is a lack of younger musicians who do this style of music, along with original material, we aim to help make this market larger.
Experienced vocalist along with a very gifted guitarist, capable bass player and one of the best young drummers in the midwest, will have no problems supplying year round private practice space, above average recording equipment and a professional ear to help master our music for free. Along with that there are many connections for shows that we have so booking gigs will not be a problem. WE ARE ALREADY PLAYING SHOWS, so this is not a gamble it is a band that already has its feet on the ground. All you have to do is play your instrument well. Be able to keep up, keep time and even show off a little when called on as this will be a band focused on every member and not just 1 or 2. We are looking for a keys player who above all else can jam and not just play sheet music. This is a new band so the atmosphere is very cool, with no pre-existing drama or egos. Retroactive (www.retroactivekc.com) is looking for a strong bass player. After a solid three year run the obligations of work and family have caused our bass player to leave us at the end of the year. Mark has set the bar high with great playing, an entertaining stage presence, and an approach to sound that has taken this band to new heights.
We play 80s music geared toward making women 25-45 dance. That's what we do. We dress the part and play the part. We have a good time doing it. We have the best male and female singing combo in the area. We are booking into 2010 and look to make the change at the end of this year. About Dolewite
Dolewite is one of the newest and most undeniably infectious bands from the Kansas City region. Born to the stage on Halloween 2006, Dolewite has yet to play for less than a packed house! With an equal mixture of musical merit and over-the-top stage antics, they are quickly becoming a force in front of any crowd. Dolewite is an old school hip hop cover band mastering songs from the 80's and 90's with a new spin: everything is done live onstage! The sample and backing music that made each one of these hits so memorable back in the day have been duplicated and reinvented with a combination of bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, and 6 highly energetic (and overly Caucasian) vocalist. Percy Sledge calls them the best band he's ever worked with. D.J. and club proprietor Lindsay Shannon calls their music, "jumpin' and shoutin' rhythm and blues". Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes requested them by name for her inaugural ball. They have performed as the back-up band for The Coasters, The Platters, and have been requested by The Drifters to back them up many times. We have been in the Kansas City area playing for about a year now. We have a single out on iTunes and Rhapsody. You can find listen to it for free at http://www.rhapsody.com/under-grace ... You are only allowed 25 free plays there so if you like it and want to purchas it you can purchase it there or at iTunes by searching Under Grace, the song is called Set Me Free.
