Senior Java (Grovy Grails) - Solomon Consulting Group (Kansas City, MO)

Job Summary Solomon Consulting is looking for a Senior Java Web developer to support a dynamic portfolio of web applications, including a variety of marketing properties and the corporate intranet for one of our clients. The position will be responsible for delivery of solutions working in partnership with the customer. Candidate should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with a team of UX and development staff, an adaptability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment, an insatiable passion for web technology and outstanding customer service skills. Key Activities -Participates in all phase of the development cycle, supporting a variety of small to large sized projects both individually and within a team. -Responsible for independently defining, designing, coding, and documenting solutions. Analyzes requirements and makes technical design and coding decisions independently on a daily basis, within the scope of architectural guidance. -Supports coaching of small to medium sized teams, communicating team goals and motivating individual members to achieve results. Provides direction and guidance to less-experienced staff and proposes improvements to team processes. -Codes and tests software in accordance with department, System, and industry accepted standards. Supports either backend or front-end development through work with UX staff. Develops test plans and scripts for unit and integration testing. Supports changes to forms and workflow within the content management system. -Ensures the compliance with OWASP guidance and other industry application security standards to deliver highly secure web solutions.  Qualifications -Associate's degree specializing in information systems, technology, or equivalent education and work experience; Bachelor?s degree preferred. At least 5 years of software development experience. -Advanced knowledge of multiple languages including, but not limited to, Java and Groovy. -Demonstrated proficiency with HTML / CSS / JavaScript / Jquery. Experience with responsive design techniques a plus. -Demonstrated proficiency with Web Application Frameworks (e.g. Grails, Spring, etc). -Demonstrated proficiency with Design Patterns, Object Oriented Design, MVC patterns. -Demonstrated proficiency in relational database systems.  Experience with SQL and troubleshooting/performance tuning. -Demonstrated proficiency with content management systems. Experience with TeamSite a plus. -Demonstrated proficiency with Agile software development principles. -Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new technologies (e.g. Web Services, Grails, etc?). -Experience with modern ORM technology (e.g. Hibernate, JPA, etc). -Strong oral and written communication skills -Excellent initiative and organization skills -Excellent customer service skills -Excellent interpersonal skills -Strong project management and leadership skills. Â
