The Tax Departments mission is to create shareholder value by minimizing corporate tax costs while complying with applicable tax laws. The primary activities of the department are tax planning and project work, tax compliance, audit defense, and tax accounting.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing sales, use, property, and other miscellaneous Operating Tax returns for Hallmark Cards and its domestic subsidiaries.
Compliance responsibilities include:
:filing and reviewing tax returns and reports
:analyzing financial data
:analyzing values assigned to real and personal property for correctness
:GL tax accounting and account reconciliations
:making payments to state and local governmental authorities for taxes and fees due
:performing tax planning
:state and local tax research
:assisting with state and local audits

In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, Hallmark Cards, Inc. and its subsidiary companies will hire only individuals lawfully authorized to work in the United States. :Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance.
:2+ years experience in a CPA firm or corporate tax department.
:Very good verbal and written communication skills, can work autonomously.
:Able to manage and meet deadlines, and juggle more than one project at a time.
:Experience with Vertex, SAP, PTMS, and Onesource for Sales Tax is a plus.
