**Duties and Responsibilities:**
The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for timely completion of all federal, state, and local payroll tax returns and ensuring the in house payroll system is configured to be compliant with company policies as well as all federal, state and local laws.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Timely filing of all federal, state, and local payroll tax payments and returns
- Timely implementation of all PeopleSoft tax updates.
- Partners closely with the IT & HR teams to ensure that all system updates are reviewed, tested, and implemented timely
- Sets up new tax location, earnings and deductions codes and makes manual table changes in PeopleSoft as required.
- Configuration/troubleshooting for payroll processing issues with HR and IT resources
- Records retention and file plan coordinator for payroll team
- Assists payroll manager with reconciliation and processing of annual W-2 forms
- Respond to regular and ad hoc reporting requests
- Investigate and resolve payroll tax notices on a timely basis
- Handle payroll data requests and analysis
- Assists as backup to the Payroll Manager
- Other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Knowledge and Skills:**
- Expert knowledge of multi-state payroll and payroll tax rules and regulations in the US
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.x, including payroll, HR, time & labor and absence management modules
- Ability to develop spreadsheets to perform financial analysis, develop, format and prepare data for a variety of reports
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proven organization skills with critical attention to detail
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with business partners and employees at various levels in the organization
- Ability to understand employee payroll issues and to communicate solutions effectively, professionally and respectfully
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive information discretely

**Minimum Requirements:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent experience
- 7 years payroll tax & payroll processing experience
- PeopleSoft Payroll Systems experience
**Preferred Knowledge and Skills:**
- Experience in processing equity transactions (restricted stock, non-qualifying stock options) for payroll and tax reporting purposes
